Did you ever wonder why your game has not improved? Understanding how your game can improve requires knowing where you currently are in your golf game.
Beginners and Novice players should focus on the three basic fundamentals of the swing that develops airtime in your golf shot.
- V shape of your arms that builds proper contact
- Toe up position of the clubface for direction
- Wrist hinge or wrist cock to establish the speed and the balance of the club
My enjoyment when teaching beginners and/or novice golfers comes when they experience the thrill of airtime in a golf shot and begin to realize that they could actually play this crazy game.
Intermediate and advanced players should be able to answer this question. How can I take off FIVE strokes off my game right now? The answer often given is more distance or my driver. Remember you only hit the driver 10 – 13 times per round. I am not saying that building a more consistent swing is important; however working backwards from the green to the tee to improve your score is the best answer. Learn and become more efficient at the scoring shots (putting, chipping, pitching and bunker play) that will have a more immediate impact on your score. Fortunately we now have a state of the art short game area with natural grass to help you improve in these areas. Remember 60% of your score takes place inside 50 yards.
